A superb late 19th century finely carved Black Forest owl storage jar, possibly a tobacco jar, carved from linden wood - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:

The owl has been very finely carved and has a good patina (colour) and is set with glass eyes, the head being a detachable lid for the jar.

The figure is in very good condition for age and is a superbly decorative piece.
