A superb quality Regency sarcophagus shaped mahogany and brass stationary box - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:

This stationary box consists of a sarcophagus form top (raised top) with a rectangular panel inlaid with brass and surrounded by a gadrooned carved border with a shaped and moulded frieze.

The top opens to reveal a removable segmented interior of fine mahogany.

The front of the box consists of fine quality veneer with boxwood and brass stringing, leading down to a slightly chamfered bottom section with brass stringing.

There is a fine quality brass handle to each end and the box is supported by superb quality decorative brass ball feet.

This piece is in very good condition for age and can go straight into a home.
