This table consists of a highly decorative central parquetry inlaid circular top with poplar stringing and a foliate marquetry border, further poplar stringing with a wide Kingwood banding, all surrounded with a fine quality decorative ormolu edge.

This leads down to a frieze consisting of Kingwood banding with poplar stringing and parquetry inlay with superb ormolu mounts.

Within the frieze a concealed drawer can be found which is oak lined and at the base of the frieze is a decorative ormolu edge.

At the top of each of the four cabriole legs are superb quality ormolu mounts depicting Bacchus surrounded by grapes and vine leaves.

The legs are tulipwood and have a tapering brass moulding following the legs down to the feet which are embellished with hoof and acanthus ormolu mounts.

The table is supported by four shaped stretchers with ormolu mounts leading to a central support with parquetry decoration to the centre surrounded by an ormolu embellishment in the form of a basket.

This table is almost identical in style to one sold at 'The Benacre Hall', Suffolk Country House auction held by Sotheby's 9th May 2000, lot number:59 found on page 73 of the catalogue which sold for £7000.00 plus commission fees. This table had a label attached 'S&H Jewell, Little Queen Street, Holborn' who were cabinetmakers based in London and making furniture from around 1830-1900.

This table is of superb quality, in excellent condition and can go straight into a home or collection.
