A set of six early-mid 19th century ash bar top ladder back side chairs attributed to the Billinge, Wigan area of Lancashire of good patina (colour) - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:

This set of six chairs comprise of five identical chairs that all have a slight chamfer to the back legs, the sixth chair is identical other than not having the chamfer to the back leg but a round turned leg instead.

The chairs consist of a curved and shaped top rail with ears passing over the uprights leading down to four graduated curved ladders.

These lead down to the rush seats, all in good condition with wooden protective edging strips.

The front legs are turned and tapered, terminating with a pad foot and joined with a turned stretcher, having double side stretchers and a single stretcher to the back.

This set of six chairs are in very good condition for age, are of sound construction and can go straight into a home.
