A late 19th century/early 20th century Waring & Gillow mahogany writing table in the Chippendale style - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:

This table consists of a rectangualr top with re-entrant corners with an inset green tooled leather top, recently replaced, with a carved moulded edge.

This leads down to two mahogany lined drawers with curl veneered fronts surrounded by mahogany cock beading with fine quality original brass handles and escutcheons.

The drawers have a carved moulding underneath and at each corner there is a curl veneered panel surrounded with a rounded moulding.

The four cabriole legs have carved stylised acanthus decoration to the knee terminating with a finely carved ball and claw foot.

A Waring & Gillow plaque can be found to the underneath of the table.

Waring & Gillow were an English furniture manufacturer, formed in the late 19th century merging Gillows of Lancaster and London with Waring of Liverpool and they were renouned for producing good quality pieces of furniture.

This writing table is in excellent condition and can go straight into a home or office etc.
