Carved French Mid/late 19th century oak bed

A carved French mid/late 19th century oak bed of double size.

This bed consists of an arched profusely carved head board with gadrooned decoration with a central carved panel underneath.

At either side is a mythical beast with scrolled acanthus and beneath this, a carved rail, three carved panels and five fielded panels.   

The uprights have carved decoration and carved acanthus ball finials to the top.

The oak sides are shaped with various moulded & carved decoration with a central panel consisting of a mythical bird and lion masks.

The foot of the bed is of serpentine form, carved with the same decoration as the sides and stands on carved cabriole legs with carved mythical faces on hoof feet.

This bed in is good condition.
