Late 18thc large oak tripod tilt table

A late 18thc / early 19thc provincial oak tripod tilt table of large proportions and good patina (colour).

This table has a sophisticated design for an oak piece of furniture of this period, but the carving is in a naive manner.

The top consists of a four plank top surrounded by a naively carved moulding.

The top leads down to a balluster birdcage which is supported by a fluted canon barrell column.

At the top and bottom of this column is a carved ball decoration.

The column leads down to a tripod base with cabriole legs, each having carved decoration of stylised acanthus, terminating with a stylised animal foot.

This table is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
