An early 19thc decorative Rosewood games table of superb quality, possibly in the manner of Gillows - ADDITIONAL PHOTOS CAN BE VIEWED BELOW.

The top consists of an alabaster square, inlaid with various specimen marble pieces to create a games board.

In each of the four corners are flower designs, possibly roses, inlaid with mother of pearl & marble.

These designs are framed with a black marble line & petal leaf decoration in each corner.

The alabaster top sits in a square, framed rosewood top surrounded by a ball bead moulding, the alabaster top being slightly recessed.

This leads down to an elaborately carved & turned solid rosewood column, consisting of various turned decoration & lotus leaves.

The column is supported by a tri-form solid rosewood base with scroll feet formed with lotus leaf designs & turned pateras. The feet terminate with turned & carved supports.

There is also an original cast iron bracket found under the tri-form base probably fitted to help with the stability of the piece.

This table is of excellent quality & is very much in the manner of a Gillows piece.

This table is of stable construction & can go straight into a home.
