A 19th century solid ebony and satinwood hexagonal centre table of exceptional quality - ADDITIONAL PHOTOS CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:

The table consists of a solid ebony hexagonal top with a frieze below consisting of turned and carved satinwood decoration in the form of stylised flowers.

Below this are moulded arched rails between the legs, each with a central applied satinwood decoration, the tops of the legs also have a larger version of this applied satinwood decoration.

The solid ebony barley twist legs stand on a block moulded foot with applied, turned satinwood oval decoration.

This table is very rare and condsidering the quality is unusual not to find a makers' stamp.

Although this piece appears to be of Colonial origin with the use of ebony and satinwood, the construction of the piece is English. It has oak corner blocks at the back of the rails & the top of the legs and has the look of a Pugin style piece of furniture.

This table came from a Country house in East Anglia which had connections with Colonial areas, such as India in the 18thc & 19thc.

This table is very unusual & would look stunning in an interior, both old or new.

The table is in excellent condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
