Superbly carved George III Pine mantel

A mid 18thc George III carved pine mantel of large proportions & superb & profuse carving.
This would have originally been part of a grand fire surround from a large house.
The top rail is carved with acanthus leaf decoration, beneath this is a plain moulding, leading down to an egg & dart design with acanthus in the corners.
The main section has scallop shell & S scroll decoration & also acanthus leaf designs.
This piece can be mounted on a wall to be used as a large, very decorative shelf or purely as a decorative piece of sculpture.
