A pair of fine quality early 20thc Meiji period Japanese bronzes of a peasant man and peasant woman.
The elderly man holds a bottle & he is possibly missing a pouring vessel is his other hand.
He wears very simple clothes & stands on a small round base.
The woman has been collecting sticks for the fire & these are being carried on her back.
She is also reading a book whilst she is walking. She also stands on a small round base.
