A late 19thc / early 20thc hardwood life size carving of an Indian elephant head, possibly of Burmese origin.
This carving is of superb quality & even the veins in the ears have been carved. Both the trunk & area around the eyes are very well carved & almost life-like.
A signature can be seen on the back of the piece.
It has a very large metal plate on the back to enable it to be hung on a wall.
This unique carved piece, for the right location is an interior decorators' dream. A real statement piece.
