A highly decorative pair of early 20th century Italian painted console tables with specimen marble tops - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
These tables consist of highly decorative specimen marble tops with various inlaid stones and marbles to create a lattice design.
These lead down to the table bases which are painted in a pale dull green tone with evidence of silver leaf.
Both tables have a superb copper central panel in the frieze at the front, these both depicting Classical scenes.
The frieze to the front and to the sides consists of a design of Vitruvian scrolls, again painted and having a worn appearance with traces of silver leaf that has worn over the years.
The legs are of bold and tapered design, again painted and with traces of silver leaf, the legs having recessed panels with turned applied mouldings and terminating with turned feet.
Tables such as these are seldom seen on the open market and would be a wonderful addition to any home as statement pieces.
Both tables are in good condition, are of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
