A superb example of an 18thc/19thc large French walnut trestle table - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
This table consists of an 18th century (circa 1790) solid two plank walnut top of exceptional patina with angular frieze below.
The top is supported by later mid 19th century trestle base with turned baluster columns to either end leading down to shaped supports joined by a moulded stretcher secured with shaped wedges.
The design of this table has the advantage of being easily dismantled as the top removes from the base, the end supports come away from the stretcher, this being secured with a shaped wedge to either end. Also due to the central stretcher this table is more accomodating for seating, this should easily seat 8, possibly 10.
This table is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
