Pair of highly decorative Regency style lacquered occasional tables
A pair of highly decorative early 20th century lacquered occasional tables in the Regency style and in the manner of Thomas Hope - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
This pair of tables consist of lacquered tops with a blue/green ground and gilt decoration depicting a traditional Oriental landscape scene with seated fisherman near a willow tree, a pair of cranes (these being a symbol of happiness and eternal good fortune), other figures in traditional dress, buildings and flora and fauna.
The bases also with the same blue/green ground with gilt decoration consisting of a finely carved column with stylised tulip design to the top leading down to a finely carved tri-form base terminating with three paw feet.
This pair of tables are in excellent condition for age, are of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
