A late 19th century (circa 1870) French giltwood console table with inset marble top - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
This highly decorative table consists of a shaped inset marble top with black marble to the centre and pink marble banding.
The giltwood table base having a moulded edge with shaped ends leading down to a finely carved gilt frieze with carved scallop shell to the centre with foliate and lattice decoration.
The top of the legs having corner blocks with carved foliate paterae with scroll and foliate decoration, the tapered and recessed legs each terminating with a moulded block foot, all supported by a moulded and shaped stretcher with two carved finials.
This table is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
