A late 19th century Chinese hardwood pot stand or low table with shaped marble inset top.
This pot stand consists of a shaped Chinese rouge marble top recessed into a hardwood top with carved ball decoration to the edge.
This leads down to a deep moulding consisting of carved scrolling decoration with a carved and pierced frieze below of foliate and fruit design leading down to the cabriole legs.
The stand is supported by four cabriole legs, the top of the legs having a carved dragon face with carved foliate decoration to the knee leading down to ball and claw feet, the legs joined with a shaped stretcher.
This pot stand is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home - this is a very versatile piece and could be used as a stand, low table, coffee table etc.
