An extremely rare pair of Channel Islands mid 19th century (circa 1850) rosewood Gothic Revival hall chairs with 'W.A. Willcocks' makers label - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
This pair of chairs consist of carved foliate poppy head finial to the centre with typical Gothic lancet arch shaped back with foliate carved decoration, the uprights chamfered with moulded collar and the lower back rail with dentil carved design.
The back rest and seat are both removeable and upholstered in a tapestry style fabric in good condition.
The recessed seat rails with moulded edges and relief carved frieze of foliate design with pierced arch and trefoil decoration.
The chairs are supported on shaped cabriole legs with paw feet to the front with cabriole legs to the rear.

W. A. Willcocks was a cabinet maker in the mid-late 19th century based in two addresses in Guernsey, one being Grange Road in the capital, St. Peter Port.
