Dimensions:
A late 19thc pair of French fine quality speltre figures in the form of 16thc warriors in full armour & draped cloaks.
These two imposing men are holding a halberd each. The halberd was an axe blade topped with a spike, mounted on a long shaft & these were used in battle.
The castings are of very fine & intricate quality & have a brown patination.
Each figure stands on a circular base that has a laurel leaf decoration.
The left figure also has a detachable sword.
I have had a similar pair of these figures before (shown in my archive under sold items) which had been converted into lamps. I was pleased to be able to purchase this second pair as the quality is impeccable, as was the quality of the first pair that have already been sold.
