A late 19th century (circa 1880) mahogany tripod table of small proportions and of exceptional quality in the George II Chippendale style with superb original patina - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:

This table consists of a solid mahogany tilt top with pie-crust edge with original patina, the rotating birdcage mechanism allowing the top to revolve.

This leads down to a finely carved base with ring turned and acanthus carved baluster column with spiral twist decoration with egg and dart carved collar all supported on a tripod base, the carved cabriole legs with acanthus carved decoration to the knees and terminating with ball and claw feet.

Although this table is a 19th century example it could easily be mistaken for a period 18th century table due to the wonderful patination.

This table is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home, the small size making it a very versatile and useful piece.
