This figure portrays a young boy struggling to carry a pot of water which is leaking standing on a naturalistic base.
The figure is signed Auguste Moreau and also has a foundry stamp.
Auguste Moreau was the third son of the sculptor and painter, Jean Baptiste Moreau: all three of his sons became sculptors and Auguste regularly exhibited at The Salon in Paris.
This figure is in excellent condition for age and can go straight into a home.
