A late 19th century/early 20th century walnut & laburnum bureau on stand. ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
This piece consists of a mirror veneered walnut fall with laburnum oyster veneer banding with a moulded edge.
Inside the bureau consists of a shaped & stepped interior, the drawers having walnut fronts and oak linings and each drawer has a turned bone knob.
The central square door has an arcaded inlay of walnut with brass hinges and at each side of this is a concealed secret compartment in the form of a column which pulls out.
Beneath the fall there is a walnut moulding which conceals moulded loopers (bureau fall supports).
This piece has a shaped frieze & the central drawer which is moulded walnut & with a laburnum cross-banding.
The stand is of cabriole leg design with carved decoration at the top leading down to a ball & claw foot.
This piece is in very good condition & can go straight into a home.
