A mid 19th superb quality mahogany cheval mirror of large proportion.
This piece has a large original mirror plate (blanked due to photographing) and is good condition with few imperfections so can easily be used.
The mirror plate sits in a superb curl veneer mahogany frame of bevelled design. At the top of this frame in the centre is a carved & scrolled finial.
The two side supports have turned finials at the top leading down to a moulding with four turned pateras.
These are supported by two tapered supports, having recessed panels on three sides.
These sit on a moulding with four large turned pateras.
The base consists of the finest quality curl veneers with carved, shaped bracket supports.
There are four pateras, one on each corner, leading down to a paw foot, resting on a porcelain castor.
The back has six panels which is another sign of the quality of this fine piece.
This is s superb example of a cheval mirror due to the quality & the size.
