An early 20thc pair of superb quality mahogany console tables of fine quality in the Classical form, influenced by Robert Adam.
The tops are solid mahogany with a carved egg & dart moulding underneath.
This leads down to a carved frieze depicting a central carved Classical urn framed in a moulded panel with a scrolled foliage & flower decoration of fine quality.
The top sits on four tapered legs, the top of each leg having applied, chamfered mouldings leading down to a fluted leg.
These terminate with a design of an upward acanthus leaf on an acorn foot.
The tops have a more faded appearance (see photo 5) compared to the rest of the table. Photo 3 is not a true colour due to lighting used for photographing.
These tables could be put together to form a circular table but are really more suited to their original use, as console tables.
These tables are in excellent order & stable construction.
