A superb example of a mid 19th century (circa 1840) rosewood oval occasional table of Gillows quality - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:

This table consists of an unusual burr rosewood top of oval form with gadrooned edge leading down to a rosewood frieze with moulded edge below.

The top is supported on a finely turned and carved column with gadroon and foliate decoration leading down to the superb tripod base consisting of three cabriole legs with moulding to the knee terminating with three foliate paw feet.

This table is in excellent condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home - although this table is not stamped it has the typical quality and style of Gillows cabinet work from the 19th century.
