Pair of parcel-gilt and painted torcheres
A highly decorative pair of Continental late 18th century parcel-gilt and painted torcheres in the Adam style, possibly Swedish. ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
The torcheres have circular dish tops with a fluted frieze with patera and ball bead carved decoration.
Surrounding each frieze are three well carved rams heads with swag decoration and husk carving following down the monopodia bases.
The legs lead down to a concave tri-form support and terminate with hoof feet on a concave tri-form base with carved frieze.
These are very decorative pieces either as free- standing items or perfect for displaying vases, bronzes etc.
