These unusual pedestals consist of decorative Pietre Dure marble tops of floral and foliate designs inlaid with various marbles and semi-precious stones.
The pedestals are freestanding pieces, being shaped on one side with elaborate carved decoration to the top leading down to a carved panel of plant & foliate design with superb scrolled carved decoration with mouldings and further carved decoration below.
The oppsoite side has a moulding to the top leading down to a foliate carved panel replicating the panel from the shaped side leading down to mouldings and further carved decoration.
The ends consist of the same foliate carved design panel as the front and back, the pedestals being supported by a moulded plinth.
This pair of pedestals are in very good original condition for age, are of stable construction and can go straight into a home or would ideal in the entrance to a restaurant or hotel etc.
