A French superb quality late 19th century large bronze of Pan with a young maiden, circa 1895 by Luca Madrassi (1848-1919) of fine patination - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
This bronze consists a young maiden holding a water carrier with Pan depicted behind her staring longingly at her, positioned on a naturalistic base.
To the side of the figure it is inscribed 'Luca Madrassi' and has the Pinedo, Paris foundry mark stamp.
Luca Madrassi was originally from Italy and both studied in his native country aswell as in Paris where he exhibited in various exhibitions such as the Salon des Artistes Francais from 1881-1896.
This piece is in excellent condition and would be an ideal statement piece or equally would enhance any bronze or antique collection.
