This elegant commode consists of a fine quality quarter veneered satinwood top with mahogany stringing, satinwood crossbanding with a carved edge.
This leads down to the three graduated drawers, also of quarter veneered satinwood, mahogany stringing and satinwood banding. The drawers each having two brass knob handles and a central brass escutcheon. Below the drawers is a decorative satinwood veneered shaped apron with scrolling foliate carved decoration replicated on the side panels.
Below the top and to the sides of the drawers is a reeded and carved foliate decoration (in the French Art Nouveau style) with carved acanthus to the top, the top of the leg and also to the bottom of the leg, the foot being of typical French scroll design.
The side panels are also of quarter satinwood veneer with reeded and carved acanthus back legs with shaped and carved apron.
This commode is in excellent condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
