A highly decorative early 19th century French Empire mahogany and marble gueridon table - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
This table consists of an original Breche d'Alep dished marble top in very good condition.
This leads down to a finely figured veneered mahogany frieze with three ormolu laurel wreath mounts with a brass moulding below.
The tri-form base is very decorative and unusual, consisting of three carved legs all with original paintwork and gilding with eagle heads to the top, leaf decoration and terminating with paw feet, supported on brass castors.
The legs also support a circular mahogany shelf with segmented veneers and a rounded edge to replicate the marble top.
This table is an unusual piece, it is in very good condition and can go straight into a home or collection.
