Early 20thc mahogany centre table
An early 20thc mahogany centre table in the Classical style, influenced by Robert Adam.
The top of this table is solid mahogany with a carving of flower decoration around the edge.
This leads down to a decorative carved frieze depicting on the front & back panels with a central Classical urn, surrounded by scrolling acanthus decoration.
On the sides of the frieze are various Classical carved designs with arch style carving with fan & husk decoration.
Within the frieze, above each leg is a stylised flower design patera.
The four legs have a colllar at the top & a carved block with swag decoration.
These lead down to a tapered square & recessed leg carved with husks.
They stand on a block, carved with round patera terminating with a recessed leg on a block foot.
The piece is held together with carved & moulded stretchers with ball bead decoration. These hold a central recessed oval panel on which an ornament can be placed.
