A mid 19thc Broad armed fruitwood high back Windsor chair from the North country, probably Yorkshire. ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
This chair has a lovely patina & is made of various woods, the seat being elm, the back splat yew & the majority of this piece is made of fruitwood.
The top hoop has four tapered spindles either side of the fir tree design central splat.
There are two turned spindles either side of the central fir tree fretted splat & 2 turned underarm supports.
The legs are turned with cup & tulip shaped feet, these are linked with an H-stretcher with 2 cross-stretchers with a central ball decoration.
The seat made of elm is a wonderfully shaped saddle design.
This piece is of stable construction & can go straight into a home.
