A mid 19th century oak octagonal tilt top table of fine quality. ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
This tables consists of an octagonal shaped segmented oak top with a central & outer solid ebony line inlaid design.
The edge is moulded and heavily carved with foliage decoration.
This leads down to a shaped & heavily carved frieze of foliage design, also concealing two oak lined drawers.
The tilt top sits on a four splay base with carved decoration of scrolling design and at each corner a scrolling acanthus carved bracket from the column to the base.
The table terminates with four feet each of a mythical beast design.
The top is a tilt top so can be displayed either up or down as seen on the photos.
Underneath the table is a stamp 'L.M.T.' which probably relates to the maker.
This table is of good condition and sound construction and can go straight into a home.
