A late 19thc speltre figure of a snarling boxer dog.
He is depicted on a rugged terrain & is rearing up while he protects his pale of water. He has a collar around his neck.
This piece has a rich brown patination.
These types of figures were produced by various sculpters such as Lalique, C H Valto & P Lecourtier.
Similar figures can be found in 'Animals in Bronze' by Christopher Payne page 230, figs D81, D82 & D83.
