19thc bronze figure of Mercury

A late 19th bronze figure of 'Flying Mercury', after J Bologna, the bronze having a green patination.
He is depicted here wearing a winged petasus on his head & wings on his ankles to give him more speed in flight.
A column of breath from Aeolus leads up to his feet which propels Mercury both upwards & forwards.
The base is black marble & bronze depicting working cherubs.
