A late 19th century satinbirch bow fronted chest of drawers of fine quality - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
The top consists of a fine figured solid satinbirch top, painted with a central oval panel depicting an Angelica Kauffmann style design of a young maiden with a basket of flowers, this is surrounded by a painted floral decoration.
The piece has satinbirch banding, once again with a painted floral border with a reeded edge, at the back of the top is a reeded splashback.
There are three graduated drawers with original handles & locks. The drawers are cock beaded with a painted line & flower decoration in each corner. The locks & handles are original, having oval gilt brass backplates with an urn design & floral design handles. The locks are of Brammer style.
The drawers are pine lined & are very clean & therefore can be easily used for clothes etc.
The side panels are solid satinbirch and the feet are turned & painted in a green colour.
This piece has been restored by our workshops. We have replaced some reeded moulding that was missing & some cock bead on a drawer. Also some drawer runners have been replaced to allow the drawers to run more easily. The piece was then repolished in a sympathetic manner and is ready to go straight into a property.
