A 19th century Regency Chinoiserie style casket with lacquer and gilt decoration.
This casket consists of a hinged lid, the whole casket decorated with lacquer and gilt decoration depicting Chinoiserie scenes.
The lacquer work consisting of a black ground with gilt decoration of Chinese temples, boats, trees and figures, the decoration being on the lid and on all four sides.
The casket has a black lacquered interior with no evidence of liners and is supported by four giltwood carved paw feet.
This piece is in very good condition for age with slight wear which is to be expected with this type of decoration, it is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
