A pair of charming late 19th century (circa 1880) French bronze putti on marble bases, in the manner of Claude Michael Clodion (1738-1814) - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:

The putti both holding a gilt bronze flambeau and resting against a tree, one with vine leaves and grapes in his hair, the other with flowers, both supported on naturalistic bases with circular gilt bronze collar leading down to fluted marble plinth bases.

This style of figures are taken from famous works executed by sculptors such as Claude Michael Clodion in the late 18th century, such models being very popular during the 19th century particularly in England.

This pair of bronzes are in very good condition for age, are of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
