A fine quality pair of late 19th century (circa 1890) French bronze figures of ‘Cupid’ and ‘Psyche’ on gilt bronze bases - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
This pair of bronzes consist of the winged young male, Cupid, wearing a headband and drapery, he is holding a quiver with arrows and rests against a tree trunk with roses to symbolise love, all on naturalistic ground and supported on a circular gilt bronze base.
The female figure, Psyche, with draped fabric to protect her modesty, resting against a tree trunk of vines and grapes with basket of grapes on a naturalistic ground supported on a circular gilt bronze base.
This pair of bronzes are in very good original condition for age, are of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
