A fine example of a Regency style six drawer oak writing table - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
This writing table has been constructed from oak and consists of a tooled black leather top with finely figured oak crossbanding with a moulded edge and ebony stringing.
This leads down to six drawers, three to either side, with two dummy drawers to each end, all drawers of burr oak with ebonised cockbeads, ebony escutcheons and fine quality pierced brass handles with oak and chestnut linings.
Each corner having an applied panel of finely figured oak with rounded ebonised moulding conforming with the cockbeads on the drawers.
The base consists of two tapered end supports with scroll brackets to the top with paterae having a recessed burr oak panel with ebonised moulding, a straight grain frame with recessed reeded decoration to the front and back supported on an oak block with ebony stringing to the edge with large turned paterae decoration.
The splay legs consist of recessed reeded decoration terminating on a square block with paterae to the top, all joined by a turned and tapered stretcher with central oak block with ebony stringing terminating with fine quality Regency period brass castors.
This table has been produced by ourselves and polished in our workshops: we are frequently asked for large writing tables but period tables of this size and style are hard to source on the open market so this is an example of tables that we can produce.
Although this table has the appearance of a period piece of furniture it is not old and therefore is subject to VAT - the list price is inclusive of vat.
