A highly decorative mid 20th century profusely and deep carved Eastern camphor wood freestanding chest or trunk - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
This camphor chest consists of a superbly carved top depicting traditional Oriental scene with a border of carved dragon and bird decoration with original brass clasp, lock and key, the lid opening to reveal good storage room, the interior having a wonderful fragrance of camphor.
This leads down to the front, also elaborately carved with traditional Eastern scene with carved dragon and bird decoration, the sides and back also with carved designs, all supported by four stepped plinth feet.
This chest would be a wonderfully decorative coffee table (a toughened glass panel could be made for the top) and equally would be a superb chest in which to store clothes or other items.
This chest is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home
