This set of chairs consist of a low hoop-back with central pierced splat with wheel design and turned spindles to either side leading down to a solid ash seat - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
The chairs are supported by cabriole legs to the front, turned legs to the back, all supported by a crinoline stretcher.
An identical example of this chair can be found in the book ‘The Price Guide to Victorian, Edwardian and 1920’s Furniture’ by John Andrews, page 99 stating that ‘the Windsor chairs from the Maurice Adams’ catalogue of 1926 were virtually unchanged from the earlier 1908 catalogue: the cabriole legged wheelbacks follow an earlier 18th century design with ‘crinoline’ curved stretchers.’
This set of chairs are in excellent condition for age, are of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
