An early 19th century mahogany open armchair of fine quality, possibly Irish - AADITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:

This chair consists of a shaped and carved back rail with scrolling decoration with a carved leaf design to the centre.

Below this is a double caned back support in very good condition with a turned rail below.

This leads down to the reeded arms with C-scroll armrests which are supported by finely carved feline monopodium front legs and terminating with hairy paw feet.

The seat, again caned is in very good condition and the seat rails supporting this are shaped and reeded.

The two back legs are reeded and of sabre design.

This armchair is in excellent condition and can go straight into a home.

As shown in the photographs the chair can either be used with the padded cushion or without, the fabric can easily be changed by the purchaser or by ourselves - please contact me to discuss.
