Dimensions:
A late 18th/early 19th century wooden childs toy in the form of a recumbent calf, possibly Eastern European - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
The calf would have originally had four wheels attached and a cord at the front to enable it to be pulled along.
The calf would have probably been made by a family member as it is in a very naive style and this adds to the character of the piece.
The calf is made from a hardwood, possibly teak although this is quite hard to identify due to the wonderful patina.
This is not only a great piece of treen but also would have been a very loved toy.
